I’m just trying to find some way…ANY WAY…to keep myself interested in the rest of this Threshers season. Now that it is official and I know for sure that Razor already hates me anyway, I guess there is no reason to expect that will change over the last 17 home games. He’ll probably hate me more if he ever sees one of these interviews (if he hasn’t already). Though he may enjoy the 7/14 interview.
Threshers and Cards Split Double Header

Just a quick recap today because of the late ending. Joe Savery took the Threshers to within one out of a complete game shutout in game one of the double header, but the Bullpen could not secure the regulation win. The Cardinals rallied to tie the game in the seventh, and then went on top in the eighth. In the bottom of the eighth the Threshers rallied for two runs and clinched game one.
For his pitching effort Joe Savery would pick up the SCHMIDT LIST player of the game award, and Matt Spencer would share the honors for his game winning RBIs. Matt had all three of the team’s RBIs in the game.

In the second game of the night Andrew Carpenter and the Threshers’ offense both got off to a great start with the Threshers leading 4-1 after three innings of play. Unfortunately the offense would go silent, and Carpenter ran into some trouble after that.
Carpenter had been terrific in his first few starts at Clearwater since coming off of the DL, but the Cardinals pounded him with five doubles over the fourth and fifth innings to climb on top 5-4, and they would eventually win by a score of 6-4 in the end.
The Threshers will have a noon game on Wednesday afternoon, so I won’t get to attend the game (damn work schedule!), but I will get a write up on the board as soon as I get home this evening.
