The Clearwater Threshers ended the season much as would have been expected. If nothing else we can say the team was consistent this season. By losing their final game the team finished with a record of 32-38 (.457) for the second half of the season. In the first half of the year the team finished with a record of 32-38 (.457), and overall for the year the team finished 64-76 (.457).

Quintin Berry Earns All-Star Honors

Clearwater Threshers center fielder Quintin Berry earned post season honors by being picked by Florida State League manager’s to represent the team on the post-season list. Berry had a terrific second half for the Threshers hitting a blistering .368 in July and .283 in August. He shattered the team’s stolen base record of 40 set by Reggie Taylor in 1997. So far he has 50 stolen bases with three games remaining. (more…)

Quintin Berry Arrested in Overnight Raid

Clearwater, FL (AP): In a still developing story it was learned this morning that Clearwater Threshers center fielder Quintin Berry was arrested after an overnight raid of his apartment. Clearwater police would not reveal exactly what led them to Berry, but it is believed that an undercover informant within the Dunedin Bluejays organization had been working with the police in a season long sting operation. The Bluejays front office did not return my phone calls, but I did speak with Dunedin catcher Matt Liuzza earlier today.
