Phillies Spring Home Opener Hours Away

Well … this Thursday I can officially kick off my 2009 baseball season as I get to go to Brighthouse Field to see the Phillies take on the Blue Jays. I have to work until noon, and then will head straight to the park from there. My wife on the other hand has the day off of work, and has vowed to be at the park when gates open. We even headed down to the local Sports Authority for a few last minute additions to the autograph kit for her. I am a collector of autographs, but my wife is the fanatical one. She is so excited to get to the park that she can’t even wait for me to get home from work? I’m telling you, a woman this good is hard to find. My new toy for the season is a new camera, so that’s going to be my excitement getting to try that out…and see the Phillies for the first time since we saw them at Tropicana Field during the World Series.

Phillies Phan Fest

Don’t forget that tomorrow, Friday the 20th is the Phillies Phan Fest at Brighthouse Field in Clearwater. There will be Phillies players signing autographs:
Greg Dobbs, Eric Bruntlett, Matt Stairs, Clay Condrey, Chad Durbin and Joe Blanton

There will be kids activities, clubhouse tours, and though I have not yet heard officially there is usually a photo booth with a player too. This year the phot booth may just be with the World Series Trophy (as if that would be a let down.) I personally can’t wait ot see the trophy and have my picture taken with it!

The night will end with a fireworks show, and the team always puts on a GREAT show. Get there if you can. It is always a good time, although I am guessing that this year it may be a little more crowded than usual.

Spring Training Just Days Away

Well, we are just a few days from the beginning of ST as pitcher’s and catcher’s will report to the Carpenter Complex for the Phillies on Saturday in Clearwater. A little farther south in St. Petersburg the Rays will host Fan Fest with a chance for fans to meet the team for the first time in 2009, and the first time since their terrific AL Championship season.

Spring Training Approaches

We are now less than one week away from Spring Training and the Phillies defense of the 2008 WS Championship. Pitchers and catchers will report to camp on Saturday February 14th and then all other players report on Monday the 16th.
