There is something about the Dunedin Bluejays that really pisses me off. It could be that their stadium is old and ugly, or it could be that their seats are uncomfortable. It could be that the beer is the smallest $5 beer in the history of the universe, or it could just be that they seem to always dominate the Threshers year-in and year-out. That could be it.
In any event…those damn Bluejays suck! Of course not so much on the baseball field as they downed the Threshers 10-2 on Friday night after a 12-6 drubbing they handed the Threshers on Thursday. Drew Naylor got his first start since being promoted from Lakewood where he had a 5-3 record with a 2.99 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 87.1 innings in the first half of 2008. Unfortunately all of the terrific numbers in the SAL did little to help his performance on Friday against the Jays. He was touched up for seven runs on seven hits, including two home runs with the Ks and 3 walks in five innings of work.
The SCHMIDT LIST award goes to Clay Harris for his 3-3 night with an RBI a run and a walk.
