The Clearwater Threshers sent Joe Savery to the hill on Tuesday night to do battle with Dontrell Willis of the Lakeland Flying Tigers. In the end it was the Threshers who got the better end of the match up as the team won 5-1 in the end. The Threshers picked up two first inning runs with Lakeland getting one run to make it 2-1 after an inning, but the Threshers tacked on three more in the seventh while the pitching staff held the Flying Tigers scoreless the rest of the game.
Jesus Villegas was 4-5 on the night with an RBI and a run scored while Michael Taylor and Gus Milner each grabbed a pair of hits in the game. Quintin Berry picked up one hit to extend his hitting streak to 22 games, but could not get a steal and remains tied for the team record with 40 on the year.
