Clearwater Threshers center fielder Quintin Berry earned post season honors by being picked by Florida State League manager’s to represent the team on the post-season list. Berry had a terrific second half for the Threshers hitting a blistering .368 in July and .283 in August. He shattered the team’s stolen base record of 40 set by Reggie Taylor in 1997. So far he has 50 stolen bases with three games remaining.
He had a 30 game hitting streak that stretched from early July through August and was voted by the Clearwater Threshers fans as the MVP in online voting this season. Last year Berry was both an in-season and post-season all star for Lakewood of the South Atlantic League.
Congratulations to “Q” on the honor. All of us in Clearwater wish you and the rest of the 2008 team nothing but the best in the future.
